A Street Everyone Knows
Broken Lantern Alley twists between older stone buildings where the streets narrow and the architecture predates much of the surrounding construction. The paving stones are uneven, rainwater collects in shallow channels, and iron lantern brackets jut from walls at irregular angles.
Most of the lanterns are damaged, rusted, or permanently dark. A few are still lit by nearby residents or shopkeepers, but the alley has never regained the bright appearance it is said to have once had.
