Between Two Peoples
Half-orcs in Abadonya are not a single culture. Some descend from long-established families whose human and orc ancestry has blended for generations; others are first-generation children of two very different worlds. Their appearance varies just as widely, from nearly human features marked only by pronounced teeth and a heavier frame to unmistakably orcish faces softened by human proportions.
What most half-orcs share is a familiarity with being judged before they speak. In some communities that judgment is distrust, while in others their strength, endurance, and ability to move between cultures make them valued scouts, soldiers, hunters, guides, craftspeople, and negotiators. Half-orcs who leave home often develop fierce loyalty toward companions who treat them as individuals rather than symbols of their ancestry.
