Children of Marsh and Canopy
Oriander's warm wetlands provide ideal Mirekin territory. Their settlements are most common in marshy island interiors, mangrove channels, freshwater pools, flooded forests, and low jungle basins.
Most Mirekin communities are small and self-sufficient. Elevated platforms, woven bridges, tree hollows, reed shelters, and natural ledges keep homes above seasonal flooding while preserving access to water and cover.
Mirekin are cautious toward outsiders but not inherently hostile. Visitors who respect hunting grounds, nesting pools, and local customs may find them practical hosts and remarkably knowledgeable guides.
