Above the Desert Roads
Vesperan communities favor places that are difficult to reach without flight: narrow cliff shelves, high canyon openings, stone pinnacles, wind-cut arches, and hidden settlements built into the upper faces of Petra's escarpments.
Their settlements are often invisible from the ground. Entrances face open air rather than roads, and many homes are connected by ledges, bridges, and landing platforms positioned for winged movement.
Vesperan prefer to know exactly who enters their territory. Unknown travelers are watched from above long before they ever realize they are being observed.
